Difference between forecast and rolling forecast

Each status is explained below with text and images:

1. Budget: The approved budget. Changes cannot be made.
2. Forecast: Copy of the budget. Changes can still be made.
3. Rolling forecast: The actuals up to and including a specific month plus the forecast for the remaining months.

If the budget is approved and the actuals have not been read in, the forecast and the rolling forecast will display the same numbers.

After the actuals have been read in, the rolling forecast will display the actuals and the remaining budget months.

You can change the forecast and the rolling forecast, but you can only use one or the other.
