1. Overview
In the Import other income and expenditure view, you can import amounts for other income and expenditure using an Excel template.
You use this view to:
- load larger volumes of data in one go
- bring in figures from external calculations or budgets
- reduce the need for manual data entry
2. Purpose
The purpose of this view is to import other income and expenditure efficiently and process it into the budget and/or forecast.
3. Key elements
Upload document
This is where you upload the Excel file (template) containing the data you want to import.
Load data into Anago
Button that processes the uploaded data and makes it available for review.
Review table
After loading, a table appears showing an overview of the imported data.
Shows the upload button, the Import data into Anago button, and a table with imported values.
4. Importing other income and expenditure
1. Upload the Excel template
- Click Upload document
- Select an .xlsx file
- Check that the tab name in the Excel file has not been changed (it should read Import)
- Save the view
The file is then linked to your session.

2. Load the data
- Click Import data into Anago
- The data is processed and prepared for review

5. Reviewing imported data
After loading the data and reopening the view, a table appears showing:
- The imported amounts
- The combinations of establishment, cost centre, and general ledger account
You will also see:
- Any combinations that could not be recognised, these are shown in the table but will not be processed
Shows the table with imported rows and any unrecognised combinations.
6. Transferring to other income and expenditure
Once the data looks correct:
- Click Transfer amounts to Other income and expenditure
- The data is processed into the budget or forecast
What happens when you transfer?
- Amounts are added to the budget or forecast
- Any existing values are overwritten if the establishment / cost centre / general ledger account combination appears in the Excel file
- Any existing values are not overwritten if the combination does not appear in the Excel file
- Mapping is updated accordingly
- Transaction lines are created or updated
- The data is processed in the same way as regular manual input
Good to know
- If multiple rows exist for the same combination, they are merged
- Indexations are recalculated based on the new input
7. Requirements
- Authorisation for the Import other income and expenditure view
- A correctly configured Excel template
- Valid combinations of:
- Establishment
- Cost centre
- General ledger account
8. Errors
File is not imported
→ Check the file type (.xlsx) and the tab name is Import
Data is missing after import
→ Check that all fields in the template have been filled in
→ Check that the view was saved after uploading the Excel file
→ Check that the view was reopened after clicking Load data into Anago
Combinations are not processed
→ The establishment, cost centre, or general ledger account is not recognised
Old values have not been cleared
→ The establishment / cost centre / general ledger account combination was not included in the Excel file, add it with an empty amount or 0 and import again
9. FAQ
What happens to combinations that are not recognised?
They are shown as an error in the review table but are not processed into the budget.
Can I overwrite existing data?
Yes. When importing, existing values are updated wherever the establishment / cost centre / general ledger account combination appears in the Excel file.
